Max Eisler papers relating to Karl Dirnhuber, 1932-1948.

Collection of printed material, photographs, and manuscript material documenting the work of Austrian architect Karl Dirnhuber and, generally, relating to architecture in Vienna in the early 20th century. Printed material consists of Eisler's book on the first ten years of Dirnhuber's career, entitled Zivilarchitekt Dr. Ing. Karl Dirnhuber (Elbemühl-Verlag,1932), and reproductions of photographs included in the book. There are seven black-and-white photographs, some attributed to photographer Martin Gerlach, including prints of the workers' flats for the municipality of Vienna. Manuscript material consists of a handwritten translation of the preface to Eisler's book, in English, addressed to the Cadbury Brothers in Bournville, England, and a timeline, possibly in Dirnhuber's hand, documenting Dirnhuber's professional accomplishments to 1948.
